Null Trace

A cyberpunk cribbage roguelike where you play as a netrunner breaking through layers of corporate ICE.

Each encounter is a hand of cribbage, but you're playing for riches and survival.

Choose your path through a procedurally generated network of ICE defenses. Each layer hits harder than the last. Defeat the final layer to complete the contract and cash in.

Scale your power by purchasing upgrades with credits that persist between runs. But the damage persists too. Manage your system stability carefully, if you take too much damage and you flatline. Know when to push forward and when to jack out.

Steal corporate secrets by pushing your cracking score beyond the encryption level during the pegging phase. Secrets can be sold on the black market for credits to fuel your upgrades. Fail to crack the encryption, and you take net damage, lowering your system stability.

Breach ICE layers by building enough pressure to overwhelm their defenses and advance. Pressure is the value of your hand, scored using standard cribbage rules.

Built for players who know what “fifteen for two” means, love games like Balatro, and want to hack megacorporations.

This project is in development. Currently the main game play loop is implemented including multiple encounters, animated scoring, minimum art assets, and the OST.

Next up for development are rougelike elements and different encounter types.
